Gratitude

November is certainly a good month to remember to be grateful and a chance to find the good in life around us all.  I'm choosing to be grateful for all of the chaos in my life - chaos that means I have a job and lots of great opportunities that have come my way, even if those things prevent me from posting on the blog because I've been too busy! LOL  

And, not to be trivial, but I'm also grateful for the little things like remembering I can use colored pencils to accent a lovely stamp.  There's just something about trees with golden leaves that just makes me happy, like those of my ginkgo tree I posted about last month!  

The weather this weekend prompted all of it's lovely golden leaves to fall, but that means I get to look forward to new bright green ones in the spring!

Happy October and World Card Making day everyone!  Other than the relentless sinus and allergy issues this season brings for me, it is without a doubt my favorite.  I love filling my porch (and even some pots) with pumpkins, the gorgeous colors of leaves, and the crispness in the air at night.  

I made this card with the inspiration of the colors the leaves on my ginkgo tree turn this time of year.  As the days grow shorder, the green starts to fade, revealing a beautiful citrus-y yellow.

I've had this tree since my early undergrad years when our department botanist was giving a couple away.  It was love at first sight for me.  It was only a few inches tall then, and now it towers over the roof.  The shapes of the leaves are just so beautiful to me.  I even have some twinkle lights in it so I can enjoy it in the evening too :)  Soon its leaves will fall, as these showy structures require too much energy to sustain, but in the spring the most wonderful color of green will start to emerge from each of the buds and I eagerly await each one of them.

Don't eat the glitter!

Who doesn't love glitter?  Especially fabulously fine sparkly *sugar-esque* glitter.  I finally got my hands on the new a•muse|studio glitter.  

It's just so..... well......  yummy! 

Totally cracked up when I saw this!  

I can pretend it's edible by putting it on something yummy in a card, right? 

So sparkly and wonderful!  For some reason I'm feeling the need to bake some sweets...  I'd rather just eat them though!
