Ah... Boris...
For those of you new to his charms, Boris is an old A Muse "mad scientist" image. He's quite the guy, if I do say so myself. I'm completely smitten with him.
I was reminiscing with a friend recently about how much we loved Boris. I knew I had to make her a fun Boris card for her birthday.
Since she is a big fan of a nice martini, I knew the regular test tube and flask wouldn't do, so I fashioned Boris a nice shaker to go along wih a tiny martini glass (althogh it appears to be quite the ample size for him).
Cheers to all you Boris lovers out there!
(sorry for the slightly blurry image... getting use to my new camera!)
I have a very fun post to share with you today! Last weekend was the 1st birthay of my friend's daughter.

Her cute mommy and I worked together on a grant where we helped a wonderful group of elementary teachers increase their science content knowledge. We had too much fun at our planning meetings where we would occasionally find ourselves getting overly excited about various science concepts (our "geek out" moments). So when I discoverd this FABULOUS Etsy shop, ShopGibberish, I pretty much squealed out loud! I couldn't help myself and got Mia a couple cute gifts including this adorable onesie:
And this custom periodic table name sign!!! *eek*
I've since placed a more orders with ShopGibberish - they've been so awesome to work with and very accomodating! Demand for their fun work has increased lately, so be sure to place your holiday order with them ASAP :)
I might have to ask Santa for some HoHoHo things...
Geek out friends!
Insipired by a good friend of mine, a self proclaimed "no nonsense" girl :)
A good, no nonsense card, does make me happy!

Happy birthday to my super-cute Little Chiquita
There's WAY more on this card than I'm used to, but I figured she would love all the colors and bling and *things*. :) I have it on good authority she loves the flower ribbon and furry things.
I figured she wouldn't be able to resist this little dude!

I finally had a chance to play along with the most recent Tuesday Trigger challenger over at Moxie Fab World. The inspiratin photo is quite stunning.
I reminds me of journeying through one of my favorite garden suppliers here in Southern California, Roger's Gardens. As my good friend would say, that place is "danger, danger!" So many wonderful things.
To me, the challenge inspiration photo was all about the fantastic color combination, the patterns, and the florals. The shape of the chair is so much fun. I thought this would be a great combination for a birthday card for a very lovely person! :)

Hello friends! Just popping in today to share a fun card I made for a good friend of mine who recently celebrated her birthday. Who doesn't love a fun martini card?

Yes friends, today I blog about a cat.
You heard me right, a cat.
But this isn't just any cat. This is for the one and only Mr. Harley Kitten Shurkus, who, on this day, is celebrating his third birthday. When my good friend Jenn decided to challenge a few of us with doing a blog hop on his birthday, how could I resist?
I mean, come on, look how stinkin' cute he is!
(Apparently he loves to squeeze into this paper scrap box Jenn keeps on her crafty table.)
So, without further adieu, my happy birthday Mr. Harley card:
I'm told he really loves sunshine, so I tried to add a lot of that on the card. I'm also told he loves to watch the birds, so I added 3 since, you know, he's 3 (I KNOW, wicked genius, right? LOL)
So, happy birthday Mr. Harley. Thanks for spreading so many smiles because you are so darned adorable (even though you would make me sneeze like crazy, give me itchy watery eyes, and I've always been a dog girl... but I'll overlook all of that because you make my heart melt).
I wish you many days filled with sunshine and birds and boxes and maybe a bunny or two frolicking in the yard.
PS - I stole all the Harley photos off Jenn's FB page ;)
In the words of a best friend, "shut the front door"!
Two posts in a row???? What's gotten into me? Haha!
I'll admit there's a teeny bit of procrastination in this card. I did work quite a bit this morning, but decided to jump on the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger bandwagon this afternoon. I know that my window of playing and making cards is narrowing as the semester progresses and my thesis deadline approaches, so I'm enjoying the tiny moments of free time while I can! :)
This week's Tuesday Trigger is based on this photo:
I decided to use this as an opportunity to make a birthday card for a very special person. One of the secretaries where I work is celebrating a birthday, and I'm delighted to do something to brighten her day :) I feel very lucky to work where I do - by far, we have the most outstanding office staff I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Happy birthday D!
This also gave me a chance to play with some fabulous washi tape, this fun flower I just got my paws on, and my new a•muse|studio stamps!
Check out the Moxie Fab site if you'd like to play along too!
Who doesn't love glitter? Especially fabulously fine sparkly *sugar-esque* glitter. I finally got my hands on the new a•muse|studio glitter.
It's just so..... well...... yummy!
Totally cracked up when I saw this!
I can pretend it's edible by putting it on something yummy in a card, right?
So sparkly and wonderful! For some reason I'm feeling the need to bake some sweets... I'd rather just eat them though!
