Hi everyone! I can't believe Valentines is MONDAY! Yikes - where did the time go?
I have a lot of friends who dismiss holiday's like Valentines - perhaps its the over-commercialization of it all or because sometimes it makes us feel alone. But I have to admit, I don't mind it. Although I did decorate my classroom a teeny bit with hearts, just the table in a student area and bearded dragon's tank (maybe it put a smile on some weary 7th graders face?), I stopped taking part in the "cheese factor" of Valentines a long time ago. For me, I just use it as a nice opportunity to let some people I care about know I'm thinking of them. I just have fun with it.
I have to admit it snuck up on me this year, so thank goodness I managed to make some valentines in December and January when I had some extra time. I'll have to wait until Monday to share most of them with you, but I can at least share this one:
I guess this contradicts my "cheese factor" statement from above, LOL But this was intended as a joke for my girlfriends who humor me and will go see the Twilight movies with me. I saw this heart box of Eclipse chocolates in a drug store, and had to get it for them. Then I found this hilarious paper matstack called, "The Immortal Love" ("1/2 with sparkle", according to the cover, LOL) - and I naturally had to make a card to go with the candy. It also gave me an excuse to use this fabulous black glass glitter I've had for a while (and heart confetti). I also got to play some more with the fun shaker pouches I picked up a while back. It was interesting stamping on such dark paper, but I wanted to try something different.
I recycled this basic design on all my valentines this year - I just switched out paper and stamps. That saved me some brain energy and let me just have fun making some custom cards for different people - a nice time saver :)
So, what do you think? Are you a fan of valentines? Would an Edward card put a smile on your face?
I'll have more to share later!
Hee-heee. fun Jill!

Your shaker pouches turned out awesome! Love the glitter w/hearts! Such a cute card, even if it is Edward!
