This weekend was baby shower madness! My friend Carrie is expecting twin girls (so excited for her) and some great work friends put on a shower for her today. One of the girls, Allison, had a great idea to make some sort of sign-up list where people could volunteer to help Carrie once the girls are born. I offered to help with that part!
I definitely needed to find some inspiration for this as infants really aren't my *thing*, LOL. After some though, I was inspired by the adorable bedding Carrie picked out for the nursery (link here). So I got out my fun A Muse papers and various punches and started making flowers!
I made the sign-in lists and title sign on the computer, the rest is with A Muse papers and white card stock (I used white card stock and stamped little red dots to make the white with red dot paper). Allison and I thought of some things that Carrie might enjoy as "relief", so I made a little tri-fold with those suggestions.
We did a little consulting with another friend of ours who is also a mother of twins. She said the thing she wanted most when her twins were infants was to take a shower! Ha ha... we added a few extra things.
I figured people would need some sort of reminder for what they signed up for, a reminder for which week, as well as a way to contact Carrie, so I thought these little reminder cards would come in handy:
I printed them out on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock and added the little stamp embellishment. Super simple!
After a little explanation, people signed up! Here's Allison explaining
Hopefully this will work out well for Carrie and offer a little bit of the "village" that is so missing for new Mom's today. I, of course, offered to do a crafty day with her as a little therapy ;)
I also wanted to share the card and gift I made for Carrie, also intended to match her nursery
Not to sure how I feel about this card, but it goes with the theme! (I hand wrote the "s" at the end of "little one".) Though hesitant about this, I'm much happier with the box I made! Several of us went in on a gift card so Carrie can get her stroller. I figured that wasn't much fun to open, so I got out my trusty Scor-Pal and made this fun little box:
I made the inside a little bit pretty too, just for fun:
I generally don't put quite this much effort into making things for people, I find that most don't give it a second glance. But I knew Carrie would appreciate it.
Congratulations Carrie - you are going to be an awesome mommy!
