A super quick post tonight... So sorry for my absentee blog lately. I've been crazy busy helping to run a science camp for 200 kids. We also have a fabulous teaching team of about 30 teachers, many of whom are in a teaching credential program and learning how to be a teacher. Lots of great learning from both campers and teachers is going on. It's near and dear to my heart... but means I'm working looooong days.
So, I jumped at the chance to play with a friend of mine on Saturday. We are in the science education graduate program together and I'm glad to reconnect with her outside of school! I got to see her fabulous garden where she is growing gorgeous hops plants (several different varieties).
Isn't that amazing! It's so fun to see how tall the plants are. We tried growing our own plant this year, but ours look wimpy compared to hers! She's also growing fabulous herbs and tomatoes. I wish I had that much space to grow things.
She was also teaching another friend how to brew. My husband is an avid homebrewer also, so it was fun to get together and join in the process. I whipped up this little card for her. I realize it's a bit hokey, but I had fun making it and I think she will get a kick out of it.
Sorry for the blurry photo... I snapped it quickly on my phone before sending the card to her in the mail. I used A Muse's Eucalyptus stamp to represent the hops, and the martini shaker for the pint glass! (I just masked the top of the shaker).
Hope you all are well!
How fun Jill! Seems like you are having such a productive summer! I'm sure your friend loved the card. :)
