One of my favorite stamp releases this year has been the
Hero Mail set by A Muse. Its a great way to make quick cards to let those who serve our country know they are in our thoughts. Best of all, proceeds from the purchase of the Hero Mail set benefit Operation Troop Aid.
This also got me thinking about Vets here at home. I live close to a Veteran's hospital and realized that their patients may benefit from a reminder that we all appreciate what they have done for us. I managed to squeeze a little time into my classes last week to have my students (who finished their work early, of course) make a note for the Veterans to let them know we were thinking of them during the holidays. I knew that mail wouldn't make it in time for those overseas, but the hospital is a quick drive from my house.
It's really touching to see some of the things the kids did...
Of course, if I had my act together I would have gotten a few of the Hero Mail sets and let the kids work with those, but hopefully these handmade beauties will work just fine and put a smile on someone's face.
Happy holidays!
(Sorry the images are all wonky... still figuring out special features on this blog!)
